INH was started on January 15, 2017 by Linda Rhodes and Peter Miller, as part of a nation wide effort by MoveOn and Indivisible. We organized to influence our MoC's using the Indivisible Guide, and decided to focus on the national issues Indivisible highlights, and also on voter rights in New Hampshire. We are part of the NH Campaign for Voting Rights.
We have an active facebook group of over 1400 members. We are action oriented and building an organization for the long haul.
Our actions:
Weekly call to action - Sunday night or Monday, we post to facebook and email a weekly list of 4-5 phone calls or other simple actions our members can take that week to make a difference. This will include at least one action focused on voter rights in NH.
Periodic group meetings - getting members together in informal 'coffees' or in larger more formal events to plan actions, and network. We will work with other progressive organizations to work against efforts to limit voting - voters should choose politicians, not the other way around!
We plan to build capacity Jan-March 2018 to be ready to work hard for the 2018 election, where we plan to flip the NH legislature blue, get rid of Sununu, and make sure our NH reps in Washington are blue! This will involve serious voter registration and engagement, collaboration with other progressive groups and being smart and action oriented.
